ragdoll

The ragdoll effect can be applied to a character rig in motionbuilder. This makes the character collapse in a realistic way. To add the effect you must have the character in a T pose position to start. you can then drag a physic solver into the view window and add the ragdoll effect. You can also add a collider into the scene so your ragdoll effect can interact with the object and make it seem like your character is tripping/ falling over an object.

Examples of ragdoll physics

This effect can be used in games. Ragdoll physics can be used in many ways, the most popular way would be in games such as elder scrolls and fallout. When the character is hit during combat the character can ether fade away or they can fall in a lifeless way. This would use ragdoll physics so when the character is hit by an object the ragdoll effect is activated and the character falls to the floor.
