CAT Rig.

Introduction to CAT rigs

"CAT stands for Character Animation Toolkit. This is a plugin for 3Ds max for character rigging. The CAT Rig is the hierarchy that defines the CAT skeletal animation system.Itis a fast sophisticated yet flexible character rig that is designed to let you create the characters you want without having to write scripts."( Autodesk 2018)
I feel there are advantages for using the plugin as it saves time as it is convenient. However I feel there are limitations to bipedal characters.

In the picture above I have used the CAT rig system. I hadn't used this system before but I had rigged before in Maya. I can see advantages to both but I feel I have more control in Maya due to individually placing the bones one by one. The CAT system I found was easy to use.  When I rigged the character I then placed muscles on the rig. This makes the character have more realistic movement as when a limb is moved the muscles flex making the character seem more life like.
